Our Services

REMDEC provide services in four main areas:

♦ Strategic Planning and Management

These services have been installed to assist CSO and other development actors in developing strategic planning and management. The services consist of some components, namely : context analyses and formulation of strategic vision and social mandate; stakeholder analyses; SWOT (strength, weakness, opportunities and threat) analyses; and formulation of strategic program directions.

♦ Organization Structure and Design

This service is to assist CSO and other development actors to improve their organizational structure and design, the task division, job descriptions and work-mechanisms to fit in the local or regional context and its programatic design.

♦ Human Resource Management

This service is to assist CSO and other development actors in the development of human resource system, strategy and policy form recruitment, compensation sytem, staff development and so forth.

♦ Accounting System and Financial Management

This service is assist CSO and other development actors in improving financial management from budgeting, book keeping, setting up standard operating procedure, administration system and so forth.

♦ Program Designing and Budgeting

This service is to assist CSO and other development actors in program designing and budgeting. REMDEC has provided many consultancy works for keeping program sustainable, engaging women participation as well as inproving environmental concern.

♦ Participatory Program Development

This service is to build CSO and other development actors capacity in conducting various participatory social research and feasibility study. REMDEC consultants have a wide array of experiences in natural resource management, rural development, sustainable land use, small business development, micro finance and so forth. In addition, REMDEC consultans also possess expertise in gender impact analysis, community organizing, social mapping/analysis and participatory rural appraisal.

♦ Policy Research and Sectoral Studies

The studies are conducted for CSO and other development actors wishing to have their overall polities adjusted to the specific Indonesian or local context or wanting detailed information of specific development sector. To perform these tasks, REMDEC maintains functional working relations with number or reputed academic and private research institutions in the country.

♦ Policy Dialogue

REMDEC facilitates a serial policy dialogue on specific issues in facilitating method understanding, partnership and sharing of experience and cooperation between different development actors.

♦ Alternative Strategy Development

This idea came into being as a result of REMDEC’s philosophy to assist development organizations and institutions by engineering and testing new approaches and consepts in the field. REMDEC has taken up a number of initiatives itself, to show the social and financial thereof. It is the company’s policy, however, to transfer management and control of these projects to others after their initial feasibility has beeb firmly established.

This service aims to build clients capacity in developing information system management to support organization in order to improve performance and continuous learning. The service mainly focussed on management information system (including database), program information system, and communication system including Local Area Network.

Track Record

REMDEC has facilitated various capacity building for civil society organizations and other development actors, with cooperation of official development assistance (ODA) institutions. We have a lot of experiences in facilitating topics and skills such as concept development, analysis tool, good governance, program and financial management, gender, reproductive health and child protection. REMDEC has also published some media and publication such as documentary videos, interactive CD on human development index in Indonesia and books such as Empowering Civil Society Organizations and Strategic Planning with Gender Perspectives, and so forth.

Since its establishment, Remdec has provided a wide range of training, consulting services, technical assistance and collaborative works with various clients. Here are some of our works and experiences:

Year 2004 - 2008

  • UNORC, strategic planning and program development of Badan Pemberdayaan Perempuan dan Perlindungan Anak - BP3A (Women Empowerement and Children Protection Agency), Nanggroe Aceh Darusalam (September 2008).

  • Strategic planning and program development of Lembaga Bantuan Hukum Asosiasi Perempuan Indonesia untuk Keadilan - LBH APIK (Legal aids organisation of Indonesia women association for justice), Aceh (September2008).

  • MDMC (Muhammadiyah Disaster Management Centre), Impact evaluation of child disaster awareness for school and communities (CDASC) program in four regions: Padang, Bengkulu, Garut (west Java), and Yogyakarta (June 2008).

  • IMPACT, Workshop on Upgrading Facilitator Skills and Development of Capacity Building Training Module for Facilitator Associate of IMPACT in Aceh (June 2008).

  • Hivos, Evaluation of the UUSC (Unitarian Universalist Service Committee) supported tsunami response program in Aceh (April 2008).

  • Hivos, Organizational capacity mapping of  Hivos NGO partners in Aceh (March 2008).

  • AusAID – ACCESS, Training and techincal assistances on non-profit financial management and sustainability for NGOs partners of ACCESS in 4 proviences: South Sulawesi, Southeast Sulawesi, West Nusa Tenggara, and East Nusa Tenggra (January – March 2008).

  • Novib, Training of trainer (TOT) and workshop on the HIV-AIDS response at workplace (March 2008).

  • UNDP, Pre-assessment on Governance’s component in the UNJP (United Nation’s Joint program Plan in Kabupaten Belu, NTT (November 2007).

  • AusAID – ACCESS, Facilitated capacity building programs for civil society organization in 4 proviences: South Sulawesi, Southeast Sulawesi, West Nusa Tenggara and East Nusa Tenggara especially for the elements of gender justice, strategic management – programmatic and financial management, governance as well as community development. The developmental issues highlighted are the poverty and women’s participation (April 2004 – September 2007).
